How you set maximum number of vusers that a host can run?

Initially run the application with one user. Save the results.now increase the load to ,15,50,100,500,1000 slowly.During the process, you will find the system will break down for a particular number of virtual users. From there start decreasing the load and u will find the bottle neck for the application so that u can call for the quality meeting.
